Nina Ferrer Gleize

Nina Ferrer-Gleize is a photographer, author, researcher, publisher, and teacher. 

Her practice brings together text and images, not only in the field of documentary creation but also in theoretical and critical research. In 2021, she defended her research and creative thesis at ENSP Arles and Aix-Marseille University, focusing on visual and literary representations of the agricultural world, drawing on her uncle’s dairy farm in the Ardèche region. Agriculture as Writing , the book based on his dissertation, was published in March 2023 by GwinZegal. It brings together a body of photographic work, field research, and an essay. Her work today takes the form of long-term research projects, which may draw on artistic and educational residencies and workshops, among other resources.

In 2015, she earned a master’s degree in literature and the arts from Paris-Cité; she also graduated from HEAR-Strasbourg in 2013 and from ESAL-Épinal in 2011.

She is the recipient of the 2023 Research and Creation Fellowship from the Hauts-de-France Institut pour la photographie.

Solo exhibitions of his work have been held at Le Bleu du Ciel (Lyon, 2021), the GwinZegal Art Center (Guingamp, 2023), and the Biel Photography Festival (2024), as well as in group exhibitions (Les Abattoirs, Toulouse, 2024; Musée des Peintres, Barbizon, 2025, among others).

At the same time, Nina Ferrer-Gleize co-founded the publishing house Pétrole Éditions in 2013.

Since September 2024, she has been teaching photography and visual culture in the Graphic Design department at ESAD-Valence. She previously taught humanities and literature at ISBA Besançon (2022–2024); and before that, she taught at ESAL-Épinal (2015–2019). She regularly gives talks at art schools, universities, conferences, and seminars, as well as to younger audiences through artistic and educational workshops.
