Born out of a collaboration between the Rencontres d’Arles, the Institut pour la photographie and the collective Orbe, Œil pour Œil  is a free and accessible app designed to introduce children to reading and  to the world of photography. 

The app Œil pour Œil was designed with photographers who share, in a playful way, their approach, their perspective, and how they think about and create their  images. 

For the first two chapters of this resource, Charlotte Abramow and Matthieu Gafsou. They help us explore their photographic work and guide us, step by step, through their photographic process.

The booklet Image, Language, Sharing stems from projects conducted by the Institut pour la photographie with children and adolescents who speak languages other than French. 

It includes about twenty suggestions for activities and workshops related to photography, divided into three categories and tailored to people whose native language is not French: Interpret images, work with images, and express yourself through images.  

Drawing on cooperative learning experiences, the workshop guides in this booklet are intended primarily for teachers of French as a Second Language (FLS), as well as for  facilitators at cultural institutions hosting photography exhibitions. The entire collection was designed with universal design in mind: the specific needs of non-native French-speaking audiences provide an opportunity to offer workshops accessible to as many people as possible.

The educational kits contain between 10 and 15 books suitable for all ages; they come with a guide that provides resources, such as a glossary of photographic terms and suggestions for easy-to-organize workshops. 

There are 7 different kits, covering the following topics: the coastline, sports, work gestures, images (re)appropriation, the portrait, the ressemblance, as well as picture games, which was added in 2025.

A set design model, created in collaboration with the collective Faubourg 132 and created using reused materials from previous exhibition design projects—exhibitions, reenactments, events, etc.—it enables the organization of workshops on exhibition curation and design.

This tool is regularly used in workshops to empower participants to take an active role in presenting their projects.

Established in 2026, My Little Exhibition Notebook was designed to help young children explore the Institut's various exhibitions. 

As you turn the pages, the booklet helps you see the photographs in a new light and makes it easier to become familiar with them in a fun way. It includes activities to do on your own or with an adult, either during or after the exhibition.

With Monumentu , the Institut is designing its first board game, intended for everyone ages 7 and up. Created with Philémon Vanorlé and Marc Bour, from the exhibition Monumentu presented at the Institut pour la photographie in 2020, this photographic investigation game invites you to take on the roles of investigator, witness, or accomplice, treating the vernacular images that make up the collection as pieces of evidence in order to better explore them.

The concept: An investigator named Iris searches through a collection of suspicious photographs for the Monumentu. She is assisted by witnesses, played by other players, among whom is an accomplice who will try to sabotage the investigation without being exposed.

A digital platform, developed as an extension of the exhibition Charles de Gaulle, as seen by photographers and in collaboration with the Maison Natale Charles de Gaulle, enables teachers to introduce their students to a critical analysis of historical and political photography and its uses in the media.
