Good Shot

Good Shot , in Flemish “ good shot ", refers to a shot aimed precisely at vital organs, intended to prevent unnecessary suffering. 

The series emerged from an immersion within a community of Flemish hunters in the Ardennes, where a shared sense of freedom—unconcerned with outside judgment—makes what might seem bestial seem ordinary. Gestures, postures, and codes of belonging shape a daily life governed by the efficiency of action, which seeks to settle the debate before it even begins: where, then, does ethics fit in? This project is intended as a framework for interpretation rather than judgment.

What attracts me to photography is its ability to open up new perspectives: to look beyond appearances and examine society, and to turn the image into a space for critical observation. Good Shot questions our relationship with animals, the sanctification of tradition, and the trust we place in images: cruelty, intimacy, sport, a ritual of control, or decadence?
