With  DéTerre , Grégory Chatonsky continues a line of thought he began with  Telofossils  in Taipei and  Wuhan   then  Second Earth   at the Palais de Tokyo, exploring the connection between artificial intelligence and extinction.

The aim is to explore the implications of Artificial Intelligence for the automation of representation. For while artificial neural networks feed on photographs, they produce a realism that is no longer photographic. This departure from the realism inherited from the Industrial Revolution produces images of images and destabilizes the very notion of truth.

Using a system that generates artificial images of a possible Earth and searches our planet for similar images, a series of workshops with theorists will begin. These workshops, which are open to the public, will aim to explore the relationship between Earth and AI.
