The Institute's Notebooks

in collaboration with Delpire & Co.

The Notebooks are a collection conceived by the Hauts-de-France Institut pour la photographie as part of its program to promote its archival collections of photographers, in collaboration with the publishing house Delpire & Co.

The first ones Notebooks from the collection, dedicated to Agnès Varda — Expo54 and La Pointe Courte, from Photographs to Film — and to Bettina Rheims— Kim Harlow, Stories — accompany the exhibitions of the same name, respectively: Expo54, exhibited at the Institut pour la photographie in 2021, and then at the Finnish Museum of Photography in Helsinki in 2022, La Pointe Courte: From Photographs to Film , co-produced with the Rencontres d’Arles in 2023, and Kim Harlow, Stories , organized as part of fall at the Institut pour la photographie in 2023.

The publication of these first sketchbooks is a concrete expression of the Institut pour la photographie’s commitment to publishing.

↘︎ These three volumes are published under the direction of Anne Lacoste, director of the Institut pour la photographie, and the Institut pour la photographie’s Photographic Archives Conservation Department —Carole Sandrin, curator, and Gabrielle de la Selle, curatorial assistant—with the kind cooperation of the photographers or their heirs.

↘︎ Emmanuelle Kouchner serves as editorial director, and Line Martin-Célo serves as artistic director.

↘︎ They were printed on the presses at Art & Character , in Lavaur.
