Theodora Barat

Artist, researcher, and filmmaker

Théodora Barat is a graduate of the Nantes School of Fine Arts and Le Fresnoy – National Studio for Contemporary Arts. She is currently working on a research and creation thesis as part of the doctoral program RADIAN .

Théodora Barat’s work blends film, photography, and installation. By exploring the interplay between these different media, she brings narrative to one and volume to the other. She is interested in changing environments, in those final moments when the artificial landscape becomes a symbol. In her work, she examines the figures of modernity and dissects its chimeras to question our future.

His work was presented at the Cneai , at the Emily Harvey Foundation (New York), at Nuit Blanche (Paris), at the Belle de Mai Vacant Lot (Marseille), in Mains d’Œuvres (Saint-Ouen), at the Palais de Tokyo , at the Villa Medici as well as at numerous international festivals. She was the winner of the Audi Talents Award (2016) and the scholarship Front / Given (2020).
