Livia Melzi

Livia Melzi was born in 1985 in Brazil. A trained oceanographer, she is pursuing a doctoral program in Art and Literature at the University of Zurich. 

The artist received the Grand Prix at the 2021 Salon de Montrouge for her installation “ My little Frenchman was so good ", and she will exhibit at the Circulation(s) Festival and the Palais de Tokyo in 2022. 

Her practice focuses on the fields of archives, memory, and the construction of an imaginary of Brazilian territory based on images and ethnographic objects. Through photography, she seeks to examine the mechanisms at work in the production, preservation, and circulation of images.
