Outside, I hate the sun

Outside, I hate the sun is a project still in the planning stages that was launched in late 2024.

It starts with a place: the Théâtre du Nord in Lille, where I work and spend most of my time. Not so much out of fascination with the theater world as because that’s now where I view the world from, and this situation has ultimately brought about something special within me.

Every face is already a performance.

What Outside, I hate the sun the point is not to reveal who the people in the image are. Or what they’re doing, or might be doing (at that moment). Rather, it is about remaining in the space where the gaze creates something—a space we traverse together, without immediately knowing what is taking shape there. It is an ongoing negotiation, sheltered from the outside world, made possible by the filming setup.
