Sarah Feuillas
Built near Tehran with the aim of relieving traffic congestion in the Iranian metropolis, Pardis was halted in its development as a newly emerging city due to a lack of funding. As if they had just been set down, dozens of dormitory buildings stand in stark contrast to the mountains with their green and bluish rocks.
The photograph shows the skeleton of a ruined—unfinished—building.
Printed on transparent PVC strips and hung from scaffolding poles, the installation is a window onto an entropic space. In the exhibition space, sand litters the floor like an amplified image. A video shows us a landscape fading into the mist. These elements remain in a liminal state, frozen in time.
