Workers' Cafés

The project focuses on the workers’ cafés in the Lille metropolitan area, places that epitomize the region’s industrial heyday and that still play a definite role in social interaction today, despite a large number of closures due to the aging clientele and the dwindling number of factories. 

Many have retained their vintage aesthetic and maintained their own distinct identity, defying current trends toward standardization—an aesthetic to which the series also pays homage.
