Elastic bodies

Lucie Pastureau is launching a new project called Elastic Bodies supported by the Region. A choral narrative featuring multiple voices that come together to reimagine stories—both big and small—in an act of emancipation and reappropriation.

Elastic bodies—as they stretch and then return to their original shape, demonstrating their resilience.
They are veritable palimpsests of all the small traumas and great joys we have experienced.
Just as they always do, until the day comes—or even beyond.
Suddenly.
Some of them grow up; their bodies stretch as if they want to break free, they spit in the face of childhood and rush headlong into adolescence.
Sometimes they starve it to slow down its spreading and deformation, thereby accelerating its collapse.
Others, with their bodies tangled and restricted, try to cope with their stiffness, to make themselves lighter, and to manage the pain. 
And then there are those who become women—women who have always felt an itch in their skin because their outer form doesn't match their inner self.
And then there are those others, inhabited for several months by another being who resembles them.
Some are in a state of turmoil, like nesting dolls; for others, it’s impossible even to imagine, and their bodies try to make them forget it.
