As someone who grew up in northern France, Belgium has always fascinated me. Despite our shared culture and history—and the sense of familiarity I feel when walking through the streets of Brussels—subtle cultural and linguistic differences remind me that I’ve crossed a border.

Brussels is the quintessential European city. Its historic center, shaped by the Industrial Revolution and the two world wars, is home to a mosaic of cultures that reflects the diversity of our continent.

It is in this spirit of unity and living together that the Brussels Sessions strive to document life in the Belgian capital, capturing the city's many facets and the various ways in which its urban space is used.
