The project examines the practice of letter-writing, which emerged during a very significant period in the history of Icelandic art and, in the 1960s and 1970s, helped expand the local art scene through the dissemination of visual material—particularly photography —to a broader network abroad.

The 1960s and 1970s saw the development of a transnational, anti-institutional network based on the dissemination of documentation and photographs from the Icelandic art scene.
