avec le Collège Jacques Brel de Fruges
The Project Interns was developed in collaboration with the Pas-de-Calais Department as part of Photosensitive .
Max, Sally-Beth, Sohan, Emma, Yann, Ikram, Kylian, Anthony, and Loane are students at Collège Jacques Brel in Fruges. They are between 12 and 15 years old and are boarding students there.
Through their meetings and discussions with Belgian photographer and filmmaker Cédric Gerbehaye, they discovered a documentary style focused on the human condition and human rights.
The series *Odyssées et horizons*, which he created in 2019 with unaccompanied minors in the Lille metropolitan area, was the subject of an exhibition at the middle school—one that these teenagers designed and put together themselves— and then shared with the school’s other students.
This project sparked a special interest in photographic portraiture among them. It was at their request that Cédric Gerbehaye took their portraits: nine portraits born of these encounters, at the heart of which doubts and convictions, restlessness and lightheartedness, innocence and maturity intertwine. It is as if they were telling us, together, the mysteries and paradoxes of their adolescence.
This project was the subject of a publication.
