This project took place between 2023 and 2025, in collaboration with the Musée de l’Hospice Comtesse and the Institut des Jeunes Aveugles de Lille.

The Project

Since 2023, a partnership between the Institute, Collège Sévigné in Roubaix, and the University of Lille has facilitated the development of a participatory outreach project. 

through an exhibition, middle school and high school students pursuing careers in art education learn about making photography accessible to people with visual impairments and work together to write audio descriptions of some of the works on display. 

Their texts, written collaboratively, are then shared in a variety of ways: through direct communication with people who are visually impaired or blind, as well as through recordings shared on the Institute’s website.
