Jean-Michel André

Born in 1976, Jean-Michel André, a graduate of the École des Gobelins with a degree in photography, lives in northern France and is one of the artists at the  sit Down Gallery . 

For the past decade or so, he has been pursuing a body of photographic work that lies at the intersection of visual and documentary approaches. His approach is rooted in a political and poetic vision of the territory. He examines its boundaries, its memory, and its transformations. He also explores the notion of circulation, particularly the economic, financial, and migratory flows that characterize the contemporary world.

His latest book, titled Borders is published by Actes Sud.
