L is for Look in Essen

Children's Photobooks

27 fév. → 7 juin

The Exhibition L is for Look invites the public on an interactive journey to explore the history of photo books for children and teens, from their industrial boom in the 1930s to the present day.

Although this genre continues to hold a prominent place in the publishing world, the exhibition vividly illustrates the evolution of educational concepts and the social status of children in the Western world over the past 100 years. It offers visitors of all ages the opportunity to discover the process of creating a photo book, from the initial photograph to the original layouts.
