Guillaume Blanc-Marianne

Guillaume Blanc-Marianne is an art historian and holds a Ph. D. In contemporary art history from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University.

He specialized in the history of photography with a dissertation on the idea of a “  image-based civilization  ” in the 1950s in France. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the German Center for Art History in Paris. He is currently an independent researcher, critic, and curator. His work focuses on the history and theory of art and images in the contemporary era and encompasses photography as well as painting, sculpture, and installation art.

His writings have been published in journals such as Ferry , Photographica , Artpress , Image & Narrative or Art Critic , as well as in anthologies, such as those published by Éditions de la BnF, B42, RVB, and Sciences Po.

He served as Secretary General of the French Photographic Society (SFP) before becoming a member of the association's Board of Directors.
