“Transatlantique” — A Musical Reading by Camille Corcéjoli

As part of the exhibition Elastic Bodies , the Institut pour la photographie welcomes Camille Corcéjoli for a musical reading of Transatlantic . Echoing the exhibition’s themes, this performance explores the body’s transformations, the transitions, and the stories that accompany them.

There will be time for discussion and book signings after the reading.

« Alex takes his lifelong friends—Louise, Djo, and Harli—on a road trip across the United States. Their destination: the clinic in West Lake Hills, which he has chosen to have his breasts removed. From queer bars in Texas to roller coasters in Brooklyn, this musical narrative plunges us into the day-to-day reality of this journey and into the story of Alex’s transition. A joyful and turbulent journey through gender and across the Atlantic, where humor and the unexpected challenge the reality of transphobic violence. »

Camille Corcéjoli

Camille Corcéjoli was born in 1987 and lives in Lille. He is an author, teacher, and researcher in the social sciences. His work explores the personal sphere to examine issues of feminism, gender, and sexuality. Transatlantic is his first novel.
