The landscape is a cultural construct. Romanticism certainly turned it into a place of escape from society, where the individual comes face to face with nature. 

But for a long time now, artists have moved away from this vision to highlight the political nature of our relationship with the landscape. The landscape has been described alternately as a territory imbued with identity-based projections—the landscape as a nation—or as a place shaped by human activity that threatens ecological balance. 

Focusing on these themes, we will host artists—primarily photographers—as well as writers and researchers for discussion sessions, where we will address contemporary issues in the political landscape.
