Photographer and researcher
Born in 1989 in Munich, Germany, Rebekka Deubner currently lives and works in Bagnolet, France.
Rebekka Deubner’s photographic work embodies her explorations of human and non-human bodies, their connections, their transformations, and their interdependencies.
Whether dealing with deeply political practices such as contraception, a personal loss, or a disaster in Fukushima Prefecture, her gaze lingers on the gesture, the skin, and the imprint to explore what binds us and engages us in a sensory way.
After studying art history and photography, she has exhibited her work at Le BAL, Villa Noailles, the Maison Européenne de la Photographie, at Paris Photo, and at the “Chaleur humaine” Arts & Industry Triennial in Dunkirk. Her work is often published in book form, either self-published or through September Books, Art Paper Editions, or Sasori Books.
