“Queer Perspectives and Chosen Families” — Roundtable Discussion with Hélène Giannecchini

as part of the "Peas in a Pod" exhibition

Rencontre

As part of Peas in a Pod , the Institut pour la photographie is hosting a roundtable discussion on the role of collectives in intersectional queer communities.

on this occasion, Hélène Giannecchini and her guests will share their personal stories and explore the place of the topics addressed in the exhibition within the art world: the identities we claim, the intersectionality of struggles, and the families we choose for ourselves.

This event will bring together:

↘︎ Hélène Giannecchini , writer, art theorist, and exhibition curator ( We – *Le Bal*), author of, among other works, An Overwhelming Desire for Friendship (Éditions du Seuil, 2024)

↘︎ Ana Mendoza Aldana , curator, art critic, and poet, resident of the Villa Albertine 2026

↘︎ Erika D. Kafrine , a drag queen from Lille and a model in the exhibition

↘︎ iottel , an Afrofuturist artist and model featured in the exhibition

↘︎ Radikal. e , DJ, transfeminist activist, and model for the exhibition

Philosophy, literature, and the visual arts will come together to explore how bonds of affection, care, and solidarity become forms of peaceful, collective resistance to social norms.
