as part of the "Archaeology of Places" symposium

International Symposium “Archeology of Places”  organized by Thaïva Ouaki and Jonathan Tichit under the direction of Danièle Méaux.

A distinctive fascination with ruins and abandoned industrial sites has emerged, reflecting new ways of experiencing heritage through direct engagement.

Some artists engage in practices that explore traces of the past or draw on methods used in the humanities and social sciences. The international conference scheduled for November 2025 and the journal’s special issue will explore the various ways in which contemporary photographic practices contribute to the renewal of historical narratives. Focal Lengths that will result from it.
