A Sense of Place / NORTH

As part of the original production of NORTH on behalf of the Institut pour la photographie, Harry Gruyaert presents a special screening of films from the series A Sense of Place ( The Sense of Place ), based on his photographic archives, at La Fileuse in Loos on June 7 at 8 p. m. 

Musician Tuur Florizoone will provide live accompaniment for the screening of these films, which explore the atmospheres and unique characteristics of different regions, whether near or far.

NORTH is an exhibition featuring a sequence of more than 160 photographs of the Hauts-de-France region—rural, urban, industrial, and coastal landscapes—taken from the 1980s to the present, for commissioned or personal projects. The images unfold in sequence based on their chromatic and formal composition, accompanied by music composed to resonate with the rhythm of the slideshow and the atmosphere of the images. This evening will be an immersive photographic experience that invites us to “look.”
