This project, which began in 2019, was originally intended to explore North Macedonia and its capital, Skopje. 

How does a society undergoing economic—but above all ideological—transition confront the new challenges and paradoxes that suddenly arise within it? What role can this country play on the Balkan Peninsula, caught up in a historical tangle that remains as pervasive as the conflicts that continue to divide its neighboring countries?

By delving into the past and present, the photographic journey has evolved into introspection—a reflection on Macedonian society itself.
