Stop: Watch is one of the very first projects developed by the Institut pour la photographie's Transmission Division.

The Project

An illustrator and photographer, Tineke Meirink led the first project the Institut pour la photographie developed for an elementary school.

Taking her approach to transforming urban landscapes as a starting point—Tineke Meirink makes particular use of collage on photographs—the artist invited fourth- and fifth-grade students at École Diderot to take a fresh look at their neighborhood. This project led them to reinterpret it, transform it, and imbue it with a unique and playful poetic quality.
