Éveiller le regard program

Lille

Lamartine School

Project carried out with teachers Claire Gaillard and Yohana Hattier in a first-grade class.

The Project

featuring contributions from Erika Meda, Morgane Denzler, and the TAC team

In the outdoor areas of the Institut pour la photographie that has been closed for more than two years for renovation work, nature has reclaimed its territory. At the edge of the large patch of overgrown vegetation that has spread there, a small door leads to Lamartine School. The first-graders pushed open that door for the first time to spend a week exploring every nook and cranny of this space that has returned to the wild.

Accompanied by the artistsMorgane Denzler and Erika Meda, they experimented with different ways of blending photography and vegetation by creating compositions inspired by their harvests, from  cyanotypes, tatakizome, and studio and outdoor photographs.

This project was developed in collaboration with the Nicéphore Niépce Museum as part of the PREAC program and, as a "Classe Culture" initiative, received support from the City of Lille.
