In 2023, the program DELTA led to the project 4 hands , created by artist Baptiste Rabichon. DELTA is an outreach program organized annually with the support of the DRAC Hauts-de-France.
The Project

Every year, the program DELTA enables three cultural organizations—including the Institute—to invite an artist to develop a project involving residents of their respective communities.
In 2023, the 11th edition of the program DELTA centers on doing things together, with a focus on newly arrived families in the area and the parent-child bond. Guided by photographer and visual artist Baptiste Rabichon, families explore different uses of photography through three introductory and discovery workshops focused on techniques such as light painting, cyanotype, shadow theater, and more.
The idea of working together, as a group, is the driving force behind the project. The workshops, designed as spaces for exploration and sharing, are open to people of all ages and take place in turn at each of the three organizations supporting the project, in Douchy-les-Mines, Lille, and Valenciennes.
Each project resulted in a publication and/or a traveling exhibition.
