This project was developed as part of the “Classe Culture” program, launched by the City of Lille’s Global Education Project and the Institut pour la photographie in 2020. Each year, the program brings a class from a Lille elementary school to the Institute for a week.
The Project
featuring Philémon Vanorlé and the TAC team
In October 2020, the Institut pour la photographie in Lille welcomed 24 fourth- and fifth-grade students from the Richard Wagner School in Lille. The students explored the Institut, learned how it operates and what its mission is, and worked with multidisciplinary artist Philémon Vanorlé.
Together, they engaged in workshops—such as photography and creative projects—as well as various visits and meetings. In particular, they visited the “Clubisme” exhibition—featuring Alexis Debeuf, Alexandrine Dhainaut, Justine Pluvinage, Eléonore Saintagnan, Ludivine Sibelle, Philémon Vanorlé, Thierry Verbeke, and “Wanderlust Social Club”—at Espace La Carré.
This exchange led to a presentation at the end of the project.
