Sido Lansari

Sido Lansari is a multidisciplinary artist born in 1988 in Casablanca, Morocco. He currently lives and works in Paris.  

His artistic practice is rooted in issues of identity, gender, and sexuality, exploring the gray areas of memory through embroidery, photography, and video. He is particularly interested in the tensions between collective narrative and individual memory. 

After earning his postgraduate degree from the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Lyon, he joined the Cinémathèque de Tanger in 2014, where he served as director from 2019 to 2022. In 2018, he was an artist-in-residence at the Friche la Belle de Mai in Marseille, where he directed *Les Derniers paradis*, his first short film, which won the Grand Prix at the Chéries-Chéris Festival in 2019.  Winner of the 2023 Utopi·e Prize, he has been an artist-researcher at the École supérieure d’art de Clermont Métropole since 2024. 

In 2025, he exhibited at the Institut des cultures d’Islam and the Frac Nouvelle-Aquitaine, and served as artistic director of the Nuit Blanche at the Ateliers Médicis. That same year, his work was added to the collections of the Fonds d’art contemporain – Paris Collections.
