Rachael Woodson

Rachael Woodson's work explores the relationship between photography and language. 

Originally from the United States, she divides her time between Paris and New York. She balances research, artistic creation, and teaching, while collaborating with cultural and academic institutions in both of her home countries. 

After earning a degree in photography from the School of Visual Arts in New York, she moved to France to study at the École nationale de la photographie in Arles and then at Paris 8 University.

She has worked with the Palais de Tokyo and the Jeu de Paume in Paris, among others, and has taught at Paris 8 University, the École nationale supérieure d’arts de Paris-Cergy, Parsons Paris, and the Paris College of Art. 

His current research views photographic objects as relational and narrative spaces, at a time when the epistemological foundations of this medium are undergoing profound change.
