Pierre-Yves Brest

Pierre-Yves Brest works just as much in the real world as he does in his studio. He creates intriguing scenes and offers a unique interpretation of the places he explores, willingly challenging the viewer’s perspective and expectations.

In 2010, he received a grant from the CNAP (National Center for the Visual Arts) for his first solo exhibition at the Galerie Intérieur in Lille. 

Since 2007,  he has exhibited at the FRAC Nord-Pas de Calais, the Kunsthalle in Erfurt, Germany, Château Coquelle, and the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Dunkirk. He divides his time between Lille (at La Malterie) and Brussels (at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts).
