Born in France in 1993, Matthieu Cauchy is a graduate of the Ecole Supérieure d’Art, le 75, in Brussels and the ENSP Arles.
He received an award in Winterthur (Switzerland—for emerging young European photographers) in 2019. He is the 2020 winner of the Maison Blanche Prize at the Marseille Photo Festival. In May 2021, he co-organized the first Burkina Faso Photography Biennial in Ouagadougou with Burkinabé photographer Adrien Bitibaly. His work “ Silences " is the winner of the 2020 Maison Blanche de Marseille Prize; it was screened in July 2021 at the MAP Festival in Toulouse and exhibited at the Emerging Artists Show during the 18th edition of the Photaumnales Festival.
Together with the Diaphane Art Center, he travels the departmental roads of the Hauts-de-France region at the wheel of the camera truck, the Obscura-Machine, to meet and photograph residents of rural areas, accompanied by photographer Romain Cavallin, with whom he founded the publishing house “ Coucou Magazine ».
