Marc Mounier-Kuhn

Marc Mounier-Kuhn constantly shifts between traditional 4x5 view camera photography and museum curation.

From portraiture and social documentary to experiments that stray further from the beaten path—ranging from monumental collages in public spaces to the manipulation of chemical emulsions, from collaborations with graffiti artists to the editing of print newspapers; his work draws as much from social reality as it does from fiction and the dreamlike, seeking to go beyond appearances and rediscover the magical dimension of the photographic act. He also leads workshops on photographic language, media and information literacy, and a physical approach to art history, combining the roles of educator and filmmaker.
