Ludivine Large-Bessette

Photographer and multidisciplinary artist

Born in 1987, Ludivine Large-Bessette works at the intersection of video, photography, and contemporary dance.

She uses the body as both an object and a motif to capture our desires for power and our limitations (artificial, physical, and normative).

Thus, cinematic and choreographic techniques serve as a gateway for her to a new form of storytelling and the creation of hybrid narratives. The historical and popular images from which she often draws inspiration help build contemporary allegories that challenge the audience’s perspective and our relationship to progress and strategies of power.
