Jade Joannes

Jade Joannès is a French photographer born in 1994. 

She graduated from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Arts de Paris Cergy in 2019 and now works between Paris and Lille, primarily in northern France.

Blending documentary and conceptual photography, she explores the concept of the portrait by placing the individual—whether familiar or anonymous—their environment, or the traces they leave behind at the center of her work. She explores the relationship between photographer and subject by examining the challenges inherent in the medium of photography, the status of images, and the act of photography itself.
