Isabelle Vandromme

Isabelle Vandromme has been practicing photography since 1990. 

She began in art schools, pursuing this utopian vision of expanding the photographic image—reduced to its temporal and spatial confines—to extend it into duration. She also explores narratives tied to the universal emotions of love and attempts to remove the photographic image from the wall to present it elevated off the ground.

The photographer uses paper—enriched with shades of gray and/or color—to transform images created in the studio into photographic objects. The viewer then attempts to decipher the work using a formal language inspired by music and to contribute their own creative process.

She is a member of the Board of Directors and assistant treasurer of the Union of Professional Photographers.
