Ezio D'Agostino

Ezio d'Agostino was born in 1979. He lives and works in Marseille. 

After studying archaeology at the University of Florence, he attended the Scuola Romana di Fotografia in Rome.

In 2009, his graduation project received the SFR Young Talents Award and was exhibited that same year at Paris Photo. In 2013, his work 14.644 received the award from the Fotografia Internazionale di Roma Festival and was exhibited at MACRO — Rome’s Museum of Contemporary Art. In 2016, he was among the ten international photographers invited by the Venice Architecture Biennale to create a project on the redevelopment of Porto Marghera, Venice’s industrial hub. That same year, he received the Portfolio Days&Night Award at the National Audiovisual Center (Luxembourg) and was invited to develop a project in Luxembourg. 

Three years later, the work resulting from this residency—NEOs—was the subject of a solo exhibition at the CNA and was acquired by the collections of this prestigious institution as well as that of the FRAC Paca, before being exhibited at numerous European festivals (Noorderlicht International Festival, GetxoPhoto, Prix Polyptique).

In 2020, he was one of four recipients of the Institut pour la photographie’s Research and Creation Grant for his project True Faith , focusing on religious apparitions in Italy—this project had already received support from the CNAP in 2016. The project led to an exhibition of the same name at the [venue]. That same year, he received support from the DRAC Paca for his project The Worst-Case Scenario .
