Elisa Moris Vai

Elisa Moris Vai is an emerging artist whose work focuses on French society, exploring its history, memory, and identity. 

Based on research, his projects span a variety of media, among which photography plays a central role.  With  National Story , she earned   the Jury Prize at the 2020 Oxford Photo Festival and was shortlisted for the Photofringe Open 20 Solo Award.  Elisa Moris Vai’s work has been exhibited in Europe (Noorderlicht Festival (NL), Photofringe Festival (UK), Ovada Gallery (Oxford, UK), and Les Passerelles, Pontaut-Combault (FR)). 

Her first solo exhibition, curated by Pelumi Odubanjo, was presented at the Maison Française in Oxford in the fall of 2021 with the support of Fluxus Art Projects.  Elisa Moris Vai’s practice extends to curating conferences that highlight the themes she explores. She has collaborated with the Photofringe festival, Grain Photography Hub, and most recently with the Oxford University Center for Humanities Research, serving as artistic curator for the conference Women, Memory, and Transmission—Postcolonial Perspectives on Art and Literature featuring Deborah Willis, Ingrid Pollard, and Heather Agyepong.
