Claire Corrion

Claire Corrion is a freelance photographer based in Lille. 

After studying political science, she worked as a freelance journalist for nearly ten years before training in documentary photography in 2023 at EMI-CFD. In January 2024, she joined the photographers’ association Divergence . She develops documentary projects in the Hauts-de-France region and publishes profiles in the press. 

In 2023, she received support from the region (PRAC3.0) for her work on male cheerleaders. Through this series of portraits, she explores the social dynamics of a popular tradition and brings visibility to this community. In 2024, she received an Individual Creation Grant from the DRAC for a project on sex workers, titled Pleasure . This work offers a different perspective on the performers at erotic fairs, without judgment or moralizing. 

At the same time, she continues to travel to Turkey, where she is developing a project on the zenne, male belly dancers. Through portraiture, documentary, and personal accounts, Claire seeks to tell stories that challenge the norm and shed light on the margins. The themes she explores, the people she meets, and the connections she forges with her subjects lead her to reflect and teach her a great deal. Through her images, she hopes to spark reactions and encourage reflection.
