Charles Delcourt

Photographer

Charles Delcourt is a trained landscape architect.

His images reveal a keen sense of composition and a precise arrangement of people and objects within the space. He divides his time between commissioned photography (portraits, architecture, and institutional work) and his personal projects, which range from documentary photography to long-term projects.

Charles uses color to create a common thread linking his various photographs and subjects. He doesn’t shy away from incongruity—he plays with our reasoned certainties and throws us off balance with the subtle nods that appear in his photography. He undoubtedly experiences the world as a smiling, empathetic observer. He is the recipient of the 2021 Albert-Kahn Fellowship and the CNAP’s Support for Creation grant.
