Baptiste Rabichon

Born in Montpellier in 1987, Baptiste Rabichon lives and works in Paris.

He graduated from the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2014 and was accepted into Le Fresnoy in 2015, from which he graduated with honors in 2017. He is the winner of the 2017 BMW Prize and the 2018 Moly-Sabata/Salon de Montrouge Prize. In 2019 and 2020, he was an artist-in-residence at the Cité Internationale des Arts. Baptiste Rabichon is the winner of the 2021 Picto/Lab Prize and the 2022 Camera Clara Prize.

In a work that is as critical of images as it is enamored with them, Baptiste Rabichon explores photography in all its forms, delving into both traditional photographic methods (photograms, pinhole cameras, etc.) as the tools of modern imagery, which he attempts—always with the same enthusiasm—to push to their limits.

Recently, Baptiste Rabichon has exhibited at the Rencontres d'Arles, the Collection Lambert in Avignon, the Lianzhou Museum of Photography, the Pearl Museum in Shanghai, the CACN in Nîmes, and the Nicéphore Niépce Museum.

In 2020, he created a massive photographic installation for Paris-Orly International Airport, which was on display until 2023.

His work is included in the collections of the Carré d'Art in Nîmes, the LAM in Villeneuve d'Ascq, La Samaritaine in Paris, the BMW Group, the Balnibar Group in Japan, and the Li Keran Foundation and the Lianzhou Museum of Photography in China.

Baptiste Rabichon is represented by the Binome and Paris-B galleries in Paris, as well as by the Reuter Bausch gallery in Luxembourg.
