Discovered in 1798 in a forest in the Aveyron region, Victor was living naked in the wild. The subject of curiosity and controversy between Dr. Pinel and his colleague Itard, he was adopted by the latter with the help of his governess, Mrs. Guérin.

By a twist of fate, the director finds himself in possession of an unfinished Super 8 film left in a camera that his girlfriend had given him upon her return from a trip to Belfast. The film is about a dozen years old and shows an unknown family having fun on a beach. He decides to travel to Northern Ireland to find these people and return the film to them. He arrives in Belfast the day after the October 13, 1994, agreements that marked the end of 25 years of civil war and begins his search in the city during that first weekend of peace.

For it is in Time that the only way to survive this new world will be found. Only the future and the past can save the present…

Agnès Varda plugs her camera directly into the electric meter of her apartment on Rue Daguerre, in Paris’s 14th arrondissement, and vows not to film any farther than the ninety meters of cable at her disposal will allow. She visits the butcher, the hairdresser, the baker, and the accordion seller, touching on every aspect of life in a neighborhood that, under the gaze of her camera, reveals its intimate poetry.
