Lecture by the Abrazo de Gol collective: “Urban Identities on Display”

as part of the Institute's Scholarship Program

Recherche & création

Shortly after its founding, the collective received two prestigious awards: a grant from LabEx ICCA (2023), which enabled it to produce the medium-length film The Château Rouge Ball (42’), and support from the Hauts-de-France Institut pour la photographie, to develop Urban Identities on Display (2024).

through panoramic photographs and audiovisual installations, these two projects explore the visual culture and transcultural expressions of identity in neighborhoods with a rich heritage of migration: Château Rouge in Paris and Wazemmes in Lille.

Every year, thanks to our partnership with the Institut pour la photographie in Lille, we have the opportunity to invite one of the recipients of the research and creation grant to give a public lecture at the ENSP.

The theme chosen for this year's event is " Video Walls ", explores iconographic practices from historical, theoretical, and creative perspectives. The Abrazo de Gol collective was recommended by Véronique Terrier Hermann because of the relevance of their research and projects on transcultural and political narratives.
