P(art)AGER Event—Photography and Dance

As part of the exhibition  Portrait Artists of the Morro , the Institut pour la photographie and Atelier Canopé in Lille are organizing a day of discussions and workshops inspired by the photographs of João Mendes and Afonso Pimenta, taken in one of the favelas of Belo Horizonte, Brazil. 

What story or stories does photography capture here? How does it reshape our perceptions and representations? Through a sensory encounter with the images, choreographer Mylène Benoit will offer a moving exploration of this photographic archive, as an echo of our own memories—both personal and shared.
