On June 15 and 16, 2024, the Institut pour la photographie will take over the Bazaar St. So for two days dedicated to photography publishing. Discover and purchase photo books, attend talks, take part in a workshop, or enjoy a film concert! 

Saturday, June 15

Presentation and sale of photography books by invited independent publishers.

↘︎ 11:00 a. m.: Diorama Workshop
Using cut-and-paste techniques, come create your own dioramas—these small miniature scenes. Using amateur photographs, recreate a moment from an imaginary life.

↘︎ 1:00 p. m. → 3:00 p. m.: Launch of Issue No. 11 of the magazine Demeter: Artistic Theories and Practices   in partnership with the University of Lille
Launch of Issue No. 11 of the magazine Demeter coordinated by Géraldine Sfez and Sarah Troche on the topic of Happiness: A Story Told Through Images? , followed by the performance The Photo on Its Own   by Gwenola Wagon and Stéphane Degoutin.

To put an end to a sexist history of literature, the association Littérature, etc. Is organizing “reclaiming memory” sessions that combine a “reading by exploration” workshop with Mathilde Recton and an ecofeminist writing workshop with art critic and curator Julie Crenn

Dirk Bakker, an expert in photography books for over 20 years and a regular at book fairs, will discuss what defines the essence of Dutch publishing during a conversation with Frits Gierstberg, curator of the Fotomuseum in Rotterdam.

For its 46th episode, the podcast “Les Parleuses,” produced by the association Littérature, etc., invites Julie Crenn to take us on a journey into the world of the Dutch photographer of Hungarian origin, Ata Kandó (1913–2017).
