Images of Resistance Movements

As the culmination of the 2022 edition of our research and creation support program, the four grant recipients will present the progress of their projects, which are being carried out under the theme “Images of Resistance.”

We will then explore ways of documenting collective and/or individual forms of resistance, the intersectionality of struggles within images, possible forms of redress/restitution through photography, images as an interface, and even a “pharmacopoeia” of images. What forms does the political iconology of resistance take? What can these images do? And, based on these four different research projects, what can they teach us about the power of images to resist?

In the morning (10:30 a. m.–1:00 p. m.), a presentation of the projects by Émilie Goudal and Maxime Boidy, in conversation with Clément Chéroux.
In the afternoon (3:00–5:30 p. m.), a presentation of projects by Livia Melzi and the moss collective, in conversation with Béatrice Josse.
