Zhenia is passionate about the art of storytelling. She collaborates with various creators to bring their ideas to life through stories. Convinced that clarity can emerge even from the most complex ideas, Zhenia—who began her career as a photographer and exhibition curator—founded Image Matter in 2010, a platform dedicated to visual storytelling. Over the years, she has worked on multimedia projects and exhibitions, honing her ability to make complex concepts more accessible.
In 2018, Zhenia expanded her area of expertise with Matter of Words, an initiative focused on writing, and co-founded Growing Pains. Based in Amsterdam, this initiative sits at the intersection of visual arts, publishing, dialogue, education, and human relationships. The project supports women and non-binary artists, exploring various formats such as artist books, photo books, and children’s books to address difficult conversations in alternative ways.
It was founded in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, together with Agata Bar and Daria Tuminas, with the goal of creating books that address war, trauma, and ways to heal from them.
