A Quest, Glances

EROA Project (Artwork Meeting Space) with Boris Vian Middle School in Croix

As part of the EROA initiative and in conjunction with the Institute’s Artistic and Cultural Outreach Program, the 5th-grade classes th 3, 4 th 2 and 4 th five students from the Boris Vian Middle School in Croix are showcasing works by artists Jean-Michel André, Ilanit Illouz, and Cédric Gerbehaye as part of an exhibition organized in collaboration with the Institut pour la photographie.

C the project aims to explore individuals’ relationship to place(s) and the concepts of space and time by drawing students’ attention to artists’ approaches. These approaches narrate people’s journeys by evoking sensory impressions in the viewer, rather than presenting supposedly objective data in a direct manner. The works of the three photographers featured —Jean-Michel André, Ilanit Illouz, and Cédric Gerbehaye—is rooted in wandering, in traversing a territory, and in crossing boundaries that separate not only geographic and cultural areas but also the worlds of the real and the imaginary.

An initiative launched and supported by the Ministry of National Education, the Lille Academy Rectorate, the Ministry of Culture, the Hauts-de-France Regional Directorate for Cultural Affairs (DRAC), the Hauts-de-France Regional Council, the Nord Departmental Council, the Pas-de-Calais Departmental Council, and the DAAC – Lille Academy.
The exhibition is open only to students at Boris Vian Middle School in Croix.
