The Institute is very pleased to welcome american photographer Susan Meiselas for a discussion with Agnès Sire , artistic director of the Henri Cartier-Bresson Foundation

Susan Meiselas is an American photographer who has been a member of Magnum Photos since 1976.
Her images of conflict zones in Central America (particularly in Nicaragua) in the 1970s and 1980s made her famous. Her photography continually challenges the practice of documentary photography. Her photoessays have covered numerous topics and countries, ranging from war to human rights, cultural identity, and the sex industry, as seen in her series *Stripteaseuses*. Her work has frequently been published, culminating in the release last year of EYES OPEN, a book designed to introduce young children to photography, following a similar volume she had produced in New York in 1975 Learn to See .
In 2018, the Jeu de Paume in Paris dedicated a major retrospective to him Susan Meiselas: Mediations , and in 2019, she was the first recipient of the Award Women In Motion , awarded by the Rencontres d’Arles and the Kering Foundation.
